Trustmarque wins seven year IT management contract with learndirect

Deal to deliver end-to-end operational IT managed services to support all learndirect centres and online operations.

Trustmarque Solutions has won a significant, multi-million pound IT management contract with learndirect, the UK’s largest provider of skills, training and employment services. The seven-year deal will see Trustmarque deliver service desk, desktop and end user computing support, infrastructure support, network support, applications and database support, and systems implementation. Trustmarque will also provide service integration and management (SIAM) services to ensure learndirect’s IT suppliers are managed in a consistent and efficient way.

With around 20,000 people accessing learndirect learning every day, round-the-clock availability of learndirect’s services is essential to the smooth running of the organisation. To allow it to devote more time to its core business of supporting people to learn new skills, learndirect wanted to be able to shift the resource burden of IT management. Trustmarque was chosen to ensure a flexible, effective IT infrastructure with fixed costs. The deal will also see 61 learndirect staff transfer to Trustmarque.

“Technology powers learndirect’s leadership in the provision of apprenticeship and employment related services,” commented Ian Tufts, Group CIO, learndirect. “Our technology strategy is built around our ability to meet business outcomes, rather than simply being led by technology.  At the same time, with thousands of people using our services every day, we need to guarantee great service availability. This arrangement allows learndirect to better focus on improving the service we provide to our internal and external customers and driving the efficiency and effectiveness of our core business.”

“This is a significant deal for Trustmarque, and is a huge endorsement of our end-to-end IT management capabilities,” commented Scott Haddow, CEO, Trustmarque. “Our aim is to help learndirect simplify its IT environment, while delivering year-on-year improvements. We have the experience, expertise and industry accreditations to meet the requirements of learndirect’s customers both now and in the future.”
