Viadex, the global IT infrastructure specialist, has joined the ranks NaviSite Europe's growing European Partner Programme. Viadex has partnered with NaviSite to deploy its NaviCloud platform and colocation services to deliver hybrid cloud solutions as part of its value added offerings. NaviSite’s flexible, scalable system enables the VAR to adapt its business model to offer a range of new utilisation-billed cloud services, in addition to delivering traditional CapEx funded projects – an essential component of the companies’ ambitious global growth plans.
Viadex currently has a presence in the UK, Singapore, Gibraltar and South Africa and is looking to expand its footprint further across the globe. Key to enabling this expansion is the ability to create recurring revenue streams, using utility cloud services.
Viadex was seeking an experienced, financially strong provider that could offer both UK based colocation of client owned equipment and virtual hosting on a VMware based cloud platform with the ability to cross-connect the two environments to deliver a hybrid cloud solution. Viadex wanted to be able to provide the best, most flexible solution to their clients – and since the cloud environment and the colocation facility from NaviSite are in the same data hall and under a single support contract, it makes the solution more secure, minimises latency and makes it easier to manage. A close working relationship with their provider was important to the VAR, making it advantageous to select a partner who was located within an easy commutable distance to its offices in Surbiton, South West London.
“NaviSite’s UK based data centres give us an advantage in the market as many of our customers value having their data stored within the UK for regulatory and compliance reasons. Their enterprise grade cloud infrastructure also means that we can offer high service levels to our customers which can be rapidly provisioned for new projects. NaviSite takes care of the infrastructure, Viadex simply rolls out resources within the Viadex services wrapper and these resources can then be scaled both up and down as requirements change,” said Sean Nienaber, Head of Professional Services, Viadex.
“We’re pleased to be working with Viadex to deliver added value services to their client base and to support their business expansion with a hybrid cloud solution.” Sean McAvan, Managing Director, NaviSite Europe. “Our ability to build customized solutions, blending traditional infrastructure with flexible, scalable cloud technology, plus Viadex’s value-added services, means that together we can offer a compelling value proposition to both existing and new customers of Viadex.”
NaviSite’s Channel Programme has also made a significant difference to Viadex’s business model by allowing it to offer a reseller cloud platform, without the need to purchase hardware and software; or the need to make a large commitment to their cloud partner. One other key advantage of the NaviSite solution was a flexible billing model, which Viadex is able to pass onto its customers along with the cost savings. As NaviSite only charges clients for the cloud resources that they actually use, this makes the solution a highly competitive commercial offering both for Viadex and their customers.
