Data centre operator Next Generation Data (NGD) has appointed Simon Bearne as Commercial Director. He brings a wealth of business experience gained from senior sales and marketing positions at companies such as Mars, Cable & Wireless Communications, Colt and most recently Claranet, Europe’s largest independent managed services provider (MSP).

As NGD embarks on a new growth phase Simon’s deep knowledge of cloud and colocation services provision to enterprise and SME customers will be of key strategic value. Working as part of the senior management team and reporting directly to the board he will help spearhead the company’s strategy for securing further contracts from major enterprise and service provider organisations as well as developing initiatives for enhancing overall customer engagement.

“I am delighted to be joining NGD as Commercial Director as the company embarks on its next phase of growth,” commented Simon Bearne, NGD’s Commercial Director. “The business model is well proven and has already served to make NGD’s world class data centre facility the first choice non-London destination for an impressive range of major global service provider organisations.  I am looking forward to leveraging my experience of the managed services industry which will complement the existing talents of the NGD team and together ensure we provide exceptional levels of customer engagement to match NGD’s second-to-none data centre assets.”

“Simon’s extensive managed services, business development and commercial background will make him a valuable addition to the management team,” added Nick Razey, CEO, Next Generation Data. “He will play a pivotal role as NGD continues to maximise its growth potential from an increasing number of large domestic and global tender opportunities.”
