Abacus, the leading fully managed technology solutions provider, whose next generation, turnkey product portfolio is distinguished under the corporate brand Abacus Next®, chose IO because it provides highly secure, energy efficient modular data centre services staffed “24xForever” with customer service, data centre operations, and security personnel. IO provides Abacus the flexibility to add capacity in a pay-as-you-grow model, which makes it easy for Abacus to deliver on-demand cloud services to its SMB customers.

“IO provides us with a next-generation, robust data centre environment that spans a global footprint,” said Jerome Fodor, CTO, Abacus. “This agreement marks our fourth and fifth data centres, which is a testament to the strong demand that we are experiencing for our cloud services. IO holds the same values and commitment that we do in helping customers maintain data integrity and business continuity.”

The modular data centres at IO.Phoenix and IO.London are exceptionally energy efficient and are capable of providing power cost savings of between 20 to 30 percent as compared to traditional raised floor colocation. The data centres employ multiple layers of physical security to protect the mission-critical infrastructure in the facility. IO does not charge customers to cross-connect to telecommunications carriers, which helps reduce their monthly connectivity charges.

“Abacus Data Systems is a leader in providing enterprise-class virtual technology solutions for the SMB sector,” said David Mettler, Vice President, Sales and Market Director, U.S. at IO. “Our modular technology allows Abacus to easily scale its data centre capacity as they need to address customer and business growth.”
