Timico hires industry veteran to lead new commercial team

Timico, the Managed Cloud Service Provider, has appointed Alex Hendry, ex-Commercial and Pricing Director at Alternative Networks, as its new Head of Commercial.

Alex has 14 years’ experience at Alternative Networks, heading up the commercial team during a period of rapid organic and acquisitive growth and was responsible for ensuring all customer and supplier transactions met commercial demands.  Prior to this, he held other commercial positions including at leading mobile phone retailer, The Carphone Warehouse.
Alex will now be heading up a new commercial team at Timico with responsibility for all pricing, bid management and supplier management, as well as building strong commercial governance to underpin Timico's growth strategy as a Managed Cloud Service Provider.
Commenting on his new role, Alex said: “The commercial team will be responsible for all pricing across the product portfolio, supporting the sales teams in building commercial propositions on bids and in all cases, ensuring we’re as competitive as possible. We will also focus on managing suppliers, to make sure we’re getting maximum value for money and support for our clients. I’m hugely excited by the opportunity at Timico, particularly as I’m joining the business at such a pivotal time in its development.”
Timico announced last month that it had secured more than ?50m in investment from growth investors, Lyceum Capital,  to facilitate its evolution as a market-leading IT and cloud provider and fulfil its long term strategic objectives.
Simon Payne, Chief Commercial Officer at Timico said: “Alex has an excellent track record in previous commercial roles, having negotiated a number of ground-breaking deals with network operators that facilitated rapid and profitable growth of the customer base. I’m looking forward to seeing the value Alex can add to the team here at Timico supporting all areas of the business to enhance our position in the managed IT and cloud space.”
