Acronis joins CIF

Leading cloud data backup and data management company Acronis has joined the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) to support the burgeoning cloud market, and help drive professional standards in the delivery of cloud services

CIF is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve standards and education in the cloud industry. It offers certification to a Code of Practice to endorse credible providers of cloud services. And through its Professional CIF Membership scheme, assists end users in determining the core information necessary to enable them to adopt such services with confidence.
The CIF Code of Practice is recognised by the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), following an in-depth assessment conducted in collaboration with the European Commission. By joining CIF, Acronis will ensure its customers receive up to date information about the changing cloud market, as well as helping to guide the focus and direction of this important industry body.
Research from CIF last year* showed that the cloud adoption rate amongst UK-based organisations stood at 78 percent. Of those organisations that used cloud, three quarters (77 percent) used at least two services and one in eight (12 percent) had deployed five or more services.
“As a leader in cloud data protection, management and monitoring, we are very keen to be playing a big part in helping to develop improved cloud working standards and practices for the benefit of whole cloud ecosystem, including system integrators, value added resellers, managed service providers, and, of course, their customers,” said John Zanni, Chief Marketing Officer and SVP Channel and Cloud Strategy at Acronis.

“As the cloud market rapidly grows, you can be sure that Acronis will play a central role in developing solutions that efficiently manage and keep safe everyone's valuable cloud data. Our valued membership of the Cloud Industry Forum is an important part of our strategy to make this possible,” he added.
Alex Hilton, CEO of CIF, added: “We are delighted to be welcoming Acronis to the Cloud Industry Forum. Its expertise is crucial to continue to drive public awareness and best practices within the cloud industry. Our members are instrumental in the direction that the Cloud Industry Forum takes and I am confident that Acronis will provide other members and end users with the knowledge to drive confidence in cloud services.”
