OGL expands use of Six Degrees’ Data Centres to deliver hosting services

Growing partnership now supports hundreds of OGL customers.

OGL Computer, a specialist provider of IT solutions, ERP software and cyber security to over 1,300 businesses across the UK, has expanded its ten year partnership with leading hosting and managed services provider, Six Degrees Group.

West Midlands-based OGL now delivers a range of hosting services, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS), from Six Degrees’ new 5,800m2 Birmingham Central data centre facility to customers across the UK. An existing tenant in its Birmingham South data centre, OGL selected Six Degrees’ new facility due to the performance, cost and location advantages it offered over building and running its own data centre estate.

OGL and Six Degrees have built a strong collaboration over the past decade, with Six Degrees supporting the growth and success of OGL who now have around 600 customers running OGL hosted services housed in Six Degrees’ data centres.

“Six Degrees’ infrastructure is an integral part of our hosted services offering and has allowed us to focus on solution development and delivering a great service to our customers from day one,” explained Paul Colwell, Technical Director at OGL. “The new Six Degrees facility had the ready-made performance, security and accreditation standards that we required, and we knew our cloud solutions would be reliably underpinned by their team of experts. We really enjoy working with Six Degrees so it was an easy decision to make!”

David Howson, CEO of Six Degrees, said, “Our underlying infrastructure gives partners such as OGL the agility to enhance their hosting service portfolios and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Through our partnership, we take away the day-to-day complexity company’s face when running their own data centres, guaranteeing that the security, availability, power and cooling for their IT estate is maintained by experts.”
