Storengy, a subsidiary of the French Engie group and a European provider of natural gas storage services, has deployed OpenText Information Hub to accelerate the creation of critical reports, enabling improved compliance and better day-to-day operations management.

As a world-leader in the design, building and operation of natural gas storage facilities, Storengy must effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, producing and distributing a wide range of daily reports for the business, on-site operations, and regulatory authorities. These reports deliver critical visibility into compliance information and operational activities that assist with day-to-day monitoring and management of storage operations.

The company produces 150 daily reports just for internal use, and previously would spend 80% of its reporting time preparing the data, with only 20% left to analyse and take action. Using OpenText, Storengy can instantly generate reports that previously took days to build, providing more real-time access to information.

“OpenText Information Hub has allowed us to save time on reporting,” said Pierre Dudit, Transverse Performance Engineer, Storengy Engie. “The OpenText solution offered the ability to scale-up easily by purchasing new licenses and capitalising on a well-developed, scalable system. Previously, it would take our in-house team of developers one to two hours to develop a report. With OpenText we instantly save time and gain new visibility into the data that matters to our business. We used to spend time sorting through spreadsheets, but now we’re analysing data with simple, visual and dynamic reports."

Storengy uses the OpenText solution across a variety of departments, ranging from marketers to technical staff located in the field. Three-hundred people in the company currently use the tool, and Storengy plans to expand it to other divisions of the company and more widely across to parent company Engie in France. The company has also worked jointly with OpenText to deploy a dashboard that will enable Storengy to communicate more easily within the firm. This dashboard automatically displays key information and updates across screens installed in key areas of the company’s offices, keeping staff informed with current project statuses.
