iomart keeps on-train connectivity solutions provider on track

Private cloud helps Nomad Digital meet contract delivery deadlines.

Private cloud from iomart is helping Nomad Digital, the world’s leading provider of passenger and fleet connectivity solutions to the railway industry, to meet tight delivery deadlines when it wins new contracts.

Nomad Digital was using a number of different providers to supply the IT infrastructure required to support its customers globally.  Managed cloud provider iomart was chosen to replace them as a single supplier because of its ability to provide a dedicated, highly available, scalable and fully redundant platform for Nomad’s software and applications in the UK and in multiple locations around the world.

With every new contract that Nomad Digital wins comes the demand for more storage capacity for the data that’s flowing from the trains through its applications. Nomad can more than meet the demand not just in the UK but in all the international locations where it provides its services.

Lloyd Pattison, Global DevOps Engineering Manager for Nomad Digital, says, “We now have a global partner who understands our technology stack and delivers to our expectations in a tightly regulated market. In addition to responding to incredibly tight contract deadlines to avoid financial penalties, iomart has given us the scalable, high performance platform we need to support the intelligent train services of the future.”
