Ekinops enables Netalis to strengthen its ultra-fast broadband services

Netalis, a subsidiary of the NASCA group formed by the merger of multi-regional telecommunication services operators Netalis and ASC, has chosen Ekinops' DWDM solutions to meet the growing bandwidth needs of its business customers, enterprises and public institutions.

The DWDM backbone network is being launched in "patches" starting with the PACA region in France, and now offers a direct link to the point of presence (commonly known as PoP) in Marseille, a city that has become the world's 7th largest digital hub according to Telegeography*. This will enable Netalis to offer low-latency transport to the world's leading hosting companies and cloud providers operating locally. Companies in the PACA region can now access services with wavelengths from 10 to 100 Gbps.

"The choice of Ekinops, a French sovereign equipment provider, is an obvious one," comments Eric Farnet, CEO of the NASCA Group. "We can count on Ekinops to support us in the development of new digital highways for several regions, starting with the next "patch" which should take shape this year in Bourgogne-Franche Comté and in Alsace."

"The demand from corporate and institutional customers for local cloud services that are demanding in terms of performance and lower latency continues to grow," comments Thierry Varona, Sales Director France at Ekinops. "Our optical transport solutions enable alternative service providers to quickly transform their business offerings while keeping costs to a minimum. We are delighted to be working with the NASCA Group in helping them launch new projects, deploy new points of presence backed by metropolitan networks, and new commercial offerings essential to their development."
