Cequence Security expands enterprise adoption as AI-driven demand for API protection grows

Cequence Security is seeing rising uptake of its platform as organisations scale agentic AI deployments and strengthen application and API security, with new customer wins, partner expansion, and continued investment in AI-focused capabilities across global markets.

Cequence Security reports that enterprises are increasingly adopting its platform to help protect data, applications, and APIs as the use of agentic AI expands. As organisations scale AI deployments, demand for application and API security frameworks continues to grow.

During the quarter, Cequence added new customers in financial services, government, and critical infrastructure across regions including Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and the United States. The company also reported expansion within existing accounts, including its largest contract with a telecommunications provider in Japan.

In 2026, Cequence expanded its partner ecosystem through agreements with GuidePoint, Aplidigital, and IT-Harmony. It also recorded its first fully channel-driven customer win in Southeast Asia, reflecting continued development of its partner-led sales approach.

In the Middle East, Cequence saw new engagements in digital banking and government sectors across Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Demand for AI-related security capabilities in the region has continued to grow alongside broader adoption of AI technologies.

Cequence continued development of its AI security capabilities with the introduction of “Agent Personas” within the Cequence AI Gateway. The feature is designed to provide controls for managing AI agents and addressing privilege-related security gaps. The platform integrates with more than 190 enterprise applications.

The company also appointed Chandra Rentachintala as Vice President of Engineering, bringing experience in technology leadership to the role.

During the year, Cequence received several industry recognitions, including placement on the 2025 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, inclusion in KuppingerCole Compass rankings, and an award at the 2026 SC Media Awards. The company also contributed to industry initiatives such as the AI-Native Blueprint Initiative and participated in the development of security guidance documents.

Cequence Security reported strong results in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, including growth and its largest deal to date. The company’s results reflect increased demand across sectors such as telecommunications, financial services, energy, and utilities.
