InterSystems has launched two new private cloud locations in the Republic of Ireland. This enhances the hosted and cloud capabilities InterSystems can deliver to customers across Ireland and the rest of the European Union (EU).

InterSystems decision to widen its private cloud capability in Ireland was driven by a recent partnership with the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE). The service was looking to implement an electronic patient record (EPR) and, like many other healthcare organisations, preferred to host its sensitive data away from the public cloud in a secure private cloud instead.

InterSystems was the logical choice for HSE, given its expertise in data management and the quality of its existing cloud offering in the UK. InterSystems excels in this space due to the high levels of availability, performance, and security it can provide.

Each cloud location offers high availability from the ground up. InterSystems cloud solutions are deployed across both locations so that, in the event of an incident or disaster, solutions can continue to operate from an alternative location with zero risk of data loss. All solutions also come with extensive security controls, including network and application firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, reputation protection, and in-depth monitoring across the end-to-end service.

By launching these new cloud locations in Ireland, InterSystems enables organisations from multiple industries across the country and the wider EU to benefit from its highly-available and secure private cloud solutions.

InterSystems solutions are also available on private cloud instances in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Chile, and the USA – as well as most major public cloud providers around the world.

Eugene Rudman, Director of Managed Services at InterSystems, said: “The high level of protection we offer not only to health services but also government services, other public sector bodies, and private enterprises should make our secure cloud capability highly attractive to a wide range of organisations across the EU.”

“In the past, such organisations would have to operate the solution themselves, whether on premise or in the cloud”, added Rudman. “Now, we provide it as a service, they don't have to worry, we take responsibility for everything. They can just focus on getting value from the software, safe in the knowledge that it will be secure, available, and performing well.”

Providing further peace of mind to HSE and other customers, InterSystems is also accredited with a wide range of industry standards in Ireland. With respect to security, it is accredited to ISO27001. In terms of service management, it has ISO20000 accreditation and with regard to business continuity, it has attained the ISO22301 standard. In addition to these standards, InterSystems has also achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification in Ireland, highlighting its ability to deliver operational security against common cyber-attacks.
