Telehouse Thailand expands its connectivity with NT partnership

Telehouse Thailand, a distinguished global provider of data centre colocation services, has joined forces with National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) to boost Thailand’s international data transmission capabilities. This collaboration leverages submarine cable systems to fortify the country's telecommunications backbone, playing a significant role in the digital transformation endeavours across various sectors.

The partnership will integrate NT’s extensive international submarine cable network with the fully operational Telehouse Bangkok facility. This synergy allows Telehouse Thailand to provide domestic content providers and ISPs from neighbouring countries easy access to the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) and Asia America Gateway (AAG) systems.

The ADC network facilitates seamless connectivity across nations such as China, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. These regions are pivotal locations for major cloud and content providers. Complementing this, the AAG network extends connectivity from Asia to the United States, linking prominent global economies.

Further enhancing its offerings, NT’s domestic submarine cable system creates alternate routing via Thailand’s Gulf coast. The system is connected to NT's international cable landing stations in Songkhla and Satun, ensuring a reliable global reach across multiple regions.

Beyond private enterprise benefits, this alliance aligns with the Thai government’s aspiration to position the country as an ASEAN Digital Hub. It is a crucial step towards the digital transformation of Southeast Asia, fostering global investment opportunities.

Colonel Sanpachai Huvanandana, President of NT, expressed the collaboration's potential: “This collaboration expands Thailand’s business potential and telecommunications readiness in the AI era. With terabit-scale capacity and high-reliability network design, our international connectivity infrastructure addresses the critical requirements of global cloud and content providers when considering investment in Thai data centre facilities.”
