Infosys partners with Cognition to enhance AI engineering

Infosys collaborates with AI coding agent company Cognition to deploy Devin, an AI software engineer, across its global enterprise network.

Infosys, a provider of digital services and consulting, has taken a step by partnering with Cognition, the creators of Devin, the AI software engineer. This collaboration aims to integrate Devin into Infosys’ operations and client interactions.

The collaboration leverages Infosys Topaz Fabric, an AI services suite that integrates various components into a cohesive ecosystem. When combined with Cognition's agentic solutions, this setup aims to accelerate project timelines and increase developer efficiency.

Having tested Devin over a six-month period, Infosys has noted enhancements in both engineering quality and efficiency. As a result, Devin will be woven into Infosys' internal teams and client delivery models, providing solutions tailored to customers' engineering environments. Using shared frameworks and specialised programs, engineers across multiple domains are set to benefit from these integrated capabilities.

The collaboration seeks to address challenges such as tech debt reduction and virtual engineer creation to tackle complex maintenance issues. Infosys plans to collaborate on industry-specific AI solutions, blueprints, and scalable frameworks, supported by co-innovation labs. In its initial rollout, Infosys's Financial Services practice is using Devin to improve delivery across various sectors, including banking and insurance.

Scott Wu, CEO of Cognition, expressed enthusiasm over this partnership, highlighting the potential of integrating their AI engineering capabilities with Infosys' offerings. Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, echoed similar sentiments, noting the advantages stemming from this collaboration.

Both Cognition and Infosys focus on applying AI to engineering practices, with the aim of supporting teams as they pursue complex objectives and adapt to ongoing digital transformation.
