Alteryx expands data partnership with McLaren Racing

Alteryx expands its partnership with McLaren Racing as the team enters the FIA World Endurance Championship, supporting data-driven decision-making.

Alteryx has announced an enhanced partnership with McLaren Racing, becoming an Official Partner of the McLaren United AS Team. This move extends Alteryx's influence across various motorsport categories, including McLaren’s entry into the Hypercar category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

For the 2027 season, Alteryx branding will be displayed on McLaren’s Hypercars, highlighting a deepened commitment to their collaborative efforts with McLaren. By announcing all founding partners at once, the two organisations emphasise their collaborative work in the WEC programme.

The announcement coincides with McLaren Racing’s return to the top-tier category of the 24 Hour of Le Mans. It marks a return 32 years after their initial triumph at the French endurance classic in 1995. This undertaking also completes McLaren Racing’s ambitious Triple Crown campaign—achieving successes in Formula 1’s Monaco Grand Prix, IndyCar’s Indianapolis 500, and Le Mans.

The FIA World Endurance Championship is known for its endurance racing format, spanning events that test strategy, reliability, and team cohesion. The races, which last from six to 24 hours, demand coordination during multiple driver changes, with a focus on consistency and durability. McLaren's entry into the WEC's Hypercar category involves closed-cockpit prototypes designed for high performance.

Andy MacMillan, CEO of Alteryx, commented on the data ecosystem developed by McLaren, signifying its reliance on real-time analytics for strategic decisions. He commented on continuing the partnership with McLaren, noting the role of technology alongside adaptability and speed.

Matt Dennington, Co-Chief Commercial Officer at McLaren Racing, expressed confidence in Alteryx’s data and analytics expertise, anticipating its contribution to supporting team performance as they embrace the challenges of the WEC.

Ultimately, the WEC endeavour illustrates Alteryx’s role in enhancing McLaren’s decision-making processes. As a data-intensive racing series, it demonstrates how data analytics support real-time decisions that influence performance and reliability on the track.
