F5 introduces new AI security capabilities in application delivery platform

F5 reveals new AI-driven security features in its ADSP that aim to enhance application protection and prepare for post-quantum threats.

As AI-driven applications face increasing security threats, F5 has introduced new capabilities within its Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) intended to strengthen protection. These features are designed to support the security of modern applications while preparing organisations for potential risks associated with post-quantum cryptography.

Organisations are scaling applications across multiple environments, increasing the need for more responsive security approaches. F5 aims to address this by integrating AI-powered features into the ADSP to support faster responses to threats and reduce operational workload.

The updated ADSP includes AI Remediate, which links the identification of vulnerabilities with the enforcement of protections. By automating the creation and validation of guardrail packages, AI Remediate allows security teams to deploy protective measures without interrupting live applications.

The platform also introduces AI-powered risk scoring for web applications. This capability automates processes that were previously manual, with the aim of reducing false positives and improving the speed of threat mitigation.

F5 has also updated F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense to address threats linked to AI-driven automation. The enhanced features distinguish between human and AI traffic, aiming to enable organisations to manage interactions with applications more effectively and limit unauthorised automated activity.

The addition of F5 Distributed Cloud Web App Scanning within the ADSP provides automated vulnerability detection. This capability seeks to enable security teams to identify potential threats and deploy virtual patches more quickly.

F5 has renamed its BIG-IP Access Policy Manager as BIG-IP Zero Trust Access, emphasising zero trust access capabilities across multiple environments. This approach applies consistent security policies for modern applications and supports F5’s broader focus on crypto-agile and post-quantum-ready infrastructure.

The latest version of ADSP also includes API discovery and security enhancements. These updates allow organisations to maintain visibility and oversight of API environments while continuing to support application performance.

F5 has also introduced updates intended to support post-quantum readiness through crypto-agile capabilities. By supporting hybrid TLS cipher groups, the platform aims to help organisations address potential quantum-related security risks while maintaining compatibility with existing cryptographic systems.

Together, these updates expand the security capabilities of the F5 ADSP and support application delivery and protection across a range of deployment environments.
