Worldstream, a Dutch cloud infrastructure provider, has partnered with Cubbit to offer Dutch enterprises a fully independent S3 cloud storage service.

The collaboration will integrate Cubbit’s DS3 Composer, a software-defined object storage solution, into Worldstream's infrastructure. Across its three data centres in the Netherlands, Worldstream will provide an S3 cloud storage service hosted and operated within its own assets, including bare-metal solutions and high-performance networks.

The partnership emphasises compliance and control. With regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and NIS2, Worldstream’s service is designed to be scalable and cost-effective while meeting these requirements.

The initiative also supports data independence, as all storage solutions are based in Europe, reducing reliance on non-European hyperscalers.

The service launches with a capacity of one petabyte and is expected to expand in the coming years to meet increasing demand and strengthen Worldstream's position in sovereign cloud storage.

Cubbit marks its first Business Alliance Partnership in the Netherlands through this collaboration, promoting geo-distributed storage solutions developed in Europe.

Worldstream and Cubbit will showcase their joint cloud storage solution at CloudFest 2026, taking place from 23–26 March at Europa-Park, Germany.

Cubbit, a geo-distributed cloud storage provider, designs solutions to help service providers, enterprises, and public organisations build sovereign cloud systems efficiently, with a focus on resilience, cybersecurity, and cost optimisation.

Worldstream, a cloud infrastructure provider operating since 2006, offers IT solutions including dedicated servers and hybrid infrastructures that aim to provide transparency and operational control.

Ruben van der Zwan, CEO of Worldstream, said: “We see more and more organisations reassessing their dependency on hyperscalers. Not because cloud doesn’t work, but because control, predictability, and data sovereignty have become critical priorities."

Alessandro Cillario, co-CEO and co-founder of Cubbit, said: “We selected Worldstream as our partner for the Dutch market because we immediately shared a common vision: the idea of building a fully sovereign and flexible alternative for Dutch customers."
