NTT DATA reveals next-gen Keihanna OSK11 data centre in Kyoto

NTT Data has opened a data centre in Kyoto, Japan, adding capacity to digital infrastructure in the Kansai region.

NTT Data has opened the Keihanna OSK11 Data Centre in Kyoto, Japan.

The facility, operated by NTT Global Data Centres, is designed to support cloud and AI workloads and includes high-efficiency cooling systems and global engineering standards. It adds capacity to digital infrastructure in Japan’s Kansai region, which is described as a growing data centre market.

Located in the Osaka–Kyoto corridor, OSK11 provides 30MW of IT capacity and is intended to serve both hyperscale and enterprise customers. It is NTT DATA’s fourteenth data centre in Japan.

The site is engineered for performance, reliability and security, and includes:

  • 30MW of IT load supported by dual power substations
  • Carrier-neutral connectivity with diverse network paths
  • N+1 air-cooled chiller design for cooling efficiency and resilience
  • 24/7 on-site security and multi-factor access controls

The facility is part of NTT Global Data Centres’ network of more than 160 data centres across over 20 countries, supporting deployment and scalability for multinational organisations.

The launch aligns with increasing demand for digital infrastructure in Japan driven by cloud adoption, AI workloads and enterprise modernisation. The Kansai region is positioned as an alternative and complement to Tokyo in terms of geographic distribution and business continuity.

NTT Global Data Centres plans to continue expanding its presence in Japan to support demand for secure and scalable infrastructure.
