Power Control Ltd has introduced the 5th generation Legrand TriMOD UPS system, marking 20 years since the original TriMOD was developed and reflecting ongoing updates to modular UPS technology.

The latest Legrand TriMOD UPS is designed to provide flexibility, efficiency, and adaptability for a range of critical infrastructure environments. It supports applications from 10kVA to 80kVA within a single system and can be expanded up to 160kW where additional capacity or redundancy is required. Its self-configuring single-phase power modules enable N+X redundancy, supporting system resilience and uptime without requiring early replacement or major system changes.

The system operates at up to 96.5% efficiency, reducing energy losses and operational costs compared to earlier versions. With a unity power factor, it delivers its full rated capacity as usable output, which is relevant for environments such as data centres where maximising real power availability is important.

The Legrand TriMOD UPS uses a configurable phase architecture built from single-phase modules. It can be set up in multiple configurations, including single-phase input and output, three-phase input with single-phase output, full three-phase operation, or single-phase input with three-phase output. Its 1:3 phase conversion capability enables three-phase output from a single-phase input, addressing limitations in sites that only have access to single-phase supply.

Within a 30kVA chassis, the system can provide up to three separate 10kW outputs, allowing it to replace multiple single-phase UPS systems. This can reduce physical footprint and installation complexity while maintaining performance, which may be useful in applications requiring separate power feeds such as individual IPS systems.

The system is designed for use across a range of environments including IT, healthcare, industrial settings, commercial facilities, and data centres where power continuity is required. Its hot-swappable power modules allow maintenance and upgrades to take place without shutting down the system, supporting continued operation.

The release of the 5th generation Legrand TriMOD UPS represents an update to an existing modular UPS platform, aligned with evolving infrastructure and power requirements.
