Data Centre World in London, held on the 4th and 5th of March 2026, brought together professionals involved in the design and construction of data centres.

The event provided a platform for architects, main contractors, and specialist consultants from across the industry. One of the featured exhibits was a full-size rig intended to demonstrate techniques for weatherproofing data centre penetrations.

Jones Weatherproofing, a company specialising in weatherproofing for data centres and other critical buildings, presented its experience in the sector. The company stated that it has worked on more than fifty UK projects and highlighted the role of weatherproofing in protecting critical infrastructure.

The exhibition also addressed the potential financial impact of data centre downtime, including risks associated with water ingress. Weatherproofing failures can result in damage to digital infrastructure and contribute to operational disruption and associated costs.

Jones Weatherproofing highlighted the importance of considering weatherproofing solutions during the design phase of construction projects. The company said it works with architects and engineering consultants to incorporate weatherproofing considerations throughout project development.

The company also noted that traditional plate-and-mastic solutions may not meet all requirements of modern data centres. Jones Weatherproofing said it uses a customised approach designed to maintain the integrity of penetrations while accommodating project design requirements. Its work is offered with a 25-year warranty.
