Pointer has strengthened its position in the UK data centre security market with the appointment of Christopher Valentino as Senior Business Development Manager. The appointment is part of the company’s plans to expand its activity in high-assurance environments and maintain its presence across the sector.

With over 50 years of experience and a workforce of more than 300 specialists, Pointer operates in the area of critical infrastructure protection. The company has seven locations across the UK, reflecting its established national presence and service delivery capability.

Christopher Valentino brings prior experience in the security sector. In his role, he is expected to support strategic growth and improve access to the company’s fire and security solutions. This focus aligns with the increasing emphasis placed on physical security and life safety systems in maintaining operational continuity within data centres.

Data centres are a key part of the UK’s digital infrastructure and face increasing requirements around operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. Pointer’s experience in national infrastructure positions it to work across hyperscale, colocation, and edge environments. Its services include perimeter protection, IP video systems, access control, as well as design and maintenance support.

As the UK digital infrastructure market continues to develop, organisations are placing more focus on integrated and secure-by-design approaches. Pointer has highlighted the importance of electronic fire and security systems in supporting uptime and business continuity in mission-critical facilities.

Valentino’s appointment also forms part of Pointer’s broader growth plans within the UK and supports efforts to extend its regional presence. This is also reflected in the opening of a new London office, intended to expand its operations in the region.

As part of its overall strategy, Pointer aims to deliver an integrated service model combining fire safety, security, compliance, and long-term support. The company positions itself as working with data centre operators, consultants, and contractors to align operational requirements with security and integrated system design.
