Quetta Data Centers, launched by Azora in collaboration with Core Tech Capital, is making significant strides in the development of cutting-edge data centres. Construction has commenced on their Tres Cantos facility in Madrid, which aims to double its capacity to 20 MW. Simultaneously, the company is breaking new ground in Barcelona, with a project in Molins de Rei already underway.
The company's strategic vision centres around creating a network of eco-friendly, low-latency edge data centres across the Iberian Peninsula. These facilities are designed to be AI-ready and are powered by 100% renewable energy while using no water.
Quetta plans to establish six data centres in Spain and Portugal, utilising advanced closed-loop liquid cooling systems, achieving a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of less than 1.15, and necessitating an investment exceeding €500 million. Upon completion of the Molins de Rei site and the expanded Madrid centre, Quetta will have achieved 50% of its targeted 60 MW capacity.
Since their inception in 2024, Azora's partnership with Core Tech Capital has successfully combined operational expertise to create a robust network of proximity data centres. The initiative is backed by a seasoned team with over 25 years in the industry, harnessing evolving technology to ensure efficiency, resilience, and sustainability.
The data centre sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, driven by an increase in demand from artificial intelligence, streaming, gaming, and numerous emerging technologies. This rapid expansion is fuelling Quetta's efforts to meet new challenges and support the digital economy's progression.
