Skillsoft unveils next-gen Percipio platform to bridge learning and business success

Skillsoft launches its upgraded platform to link skills development with business outcomes amidst rapid technological change.

Skillsoft, a provider of AI-driven skills management solutions, has released the latest version of its Skillsoft Percipio Platform. The update addresses the growing need for a connection between learning, skills development, and business outcomes.

Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are changing the nature of work, with research indicating that around 40% of core workplace skills are expected to change by 2030. Organisations are under pressure to understand workforce readiness and its impact on performance.

Despite significant investment in learning, many organisations find it challenging to assess whether those efforts are building measurable capability. Leaders often lack clarity on current skills, emerging gaps, prioritisation, and the link between learning and performance outcomes.

Ron Hovsepian, Chief Executive Officer of Skillsoft, explained that the main challenge for organisations is determining whether their workforce is prepared for future demands, highlighting the need for an end-to-end skills management approach.

While high-quality learning content remains important, platforms that connect skills, people, and outcomes provide essential visibility and actionable insight. Effective learning must be relevant, applied, and adaptable to real-world situations as roles evolve.

Only 10% of HR and L&D leaders surveyed said they are confident their workforce has the skills to meet upcoming business goals. Skills management helps close this gap by aligning development with organisational priorities, guiding learning, and informing workforce decisions.

Gavin McQuillan, Head of Learning and Development at NatWest, noted that the platform helps organisations make skills visible and actionable, linking learning to workforce decisions and adapting to changing needs.

The Percipio Platform includes:

  • Personalised, dynamic learning: Tools such as LX Design Studio and CAISY allow role-specific learning experiences to be created quickly, supporting skill development as job requirements evolve.
  • Unified skills visibility: Skills mapping, assessment, and measurement are integrated in one platform to provide a clear view of workforce capability and readiness.
  • Linking learning to impact: Structured, skill-aligned learning journeys ensure development translates into measurable business outcomes.
The updated Skillsoft Percipio Platform allows organisations to assess, develop, and monitor skills at scale, helping address skill gaps proactively. It supports leaders in directing learning investment and maximising the value of existing talent as workforce requirements continue to change.
