Tech Mahindra has partnered with Microsoft to launch an ontology-driven Agentic AI platform for telecom and enterprise data modernisation.
Built on Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI Foundry, the platform provides a framework for explainable, auditable, and real-time AI guidance, supporting secure and governed deployment of AI agents.
As telecom operators undergo mergers and manage increasingly complex data ecosystems, the gap between enterprise metadata and actionable insights grows. The collaboration addresses this by converting metadata into structured, reusable data products to support data mesh adoption from strategy to execution.
The platform includes multi-agent orchestration for real-time monitoring, reasoning, and recommendations across telecom use cases such as churn prediction, fraud detection, revenue assurance, and network optimisation. Its semantic-first design helps reduce misinterpretation risks, supports root-cause analysis, and enables AI operations in regulated environments.
Amol Phadke, Chief Transformation Officer at Tech Mahindra, stated that telecom operators are moving beyond AI experiments towards scalable intelligence for measurable business outcomes. The partnership with Microsoft provides a governed semantic foundation for explainable insights, real-time decision-making, and cross-domain intelligence.
The platform is intended to accelerate agentic AI adoption, support faster go-to-market, and optimise development and operational costs. Tech Mahindra and Microsoft integrate governed data, semantic models, knowledge graphs, and AI agents into an enterprise-ready architecture.
Monte Hong, Global Director of Telecommunications Industry Strategy at Microsoft, highlighted that scalable AI requires intelligence and trust. Using Microsoft Work IQ, Fabric IQ, and Foundry IQ, AI agents gain operational awareness to enhance decision-making, automate networks, and improve customer interactions.
Under Tech Mahindra’s ‘AI Delivered Right’ initiative, the platform supports enterprise AI adoption with scalable, ontology-driven solutions. Telecom providers gain auditable intelligence, unified operational visibility, and faster time-to-value. Enterprises implementing Data Mesh strategies seek to benefit from accelerated data product creation, better use of governance investments, and compliance-ready innovation.
