Datadog recently presented updates at DASH. The conference covered new features related to automation in software operations and security workflows, in the context of ongoing developments in AI technologies.

The event addressed the increasing use of AI in technology operations, including Datadog’s Bits AI suite. This set of tools is intended to automate tasks across development, security, and operations, in response to growing system complexity and digital security risks in the sector.

Bits AI updates were introduced that enable the system to detect and help resolve issues across environments with reduced human intervention. The tool has expanded beyond root-cause analysis to support production and development workflows, including capabilities such as Agent Evals and infrastructure monitoring.

With these updates, Bits AI can operate across the development lifecycle, tracking software releases and monitoring system behaviour across stages. It is intended to identify potential issues and propose or apply fixes within defined operational controls.

Datadog also introduced Bits Agent Builder, which allows users to create custom AI agents for tasks such as incident response and report generation. Alongside this, the Agent Console provides a central interface for monitoring and managing AI agents and reviewing their performance.

The company also presented AI Guard, a security feature intended to detect and mitigate attacks targeting AI agents. It uses telemetry and behavioural analysis to identify suspicious activity and help protect data while limiting potential operational or reputational impact.

As AI-related data volumes increase, Datadog’s Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) initiative allows customers to process and index data within their own cloud environments. This approach is intended to give organisations more control over data storage and associated costs while maintaining access to analytics capabilities.

Overall, the updates presented at DASH reflect ongoing development of tools for observability, automation, and security in AI-driven environments.
