MCIM has introduced a new service called Operational Audits, an in-person assessment designed for colocation providers to review operational readiness and identify potential risks within their environments. The service is positioned in response to increasing complexity in the sector, including high-density AI and HPC workloads, evolving compliance requirements, and changes in workforce and staffing models.
These conditions require operational oversight that goes beyond routine system checks, as risks can emerge across workflows, processes, and human interactions, making internal visibility more challenging. The audits are intended to provide an external assessment of operational performance and associated risks.
Operational Audits use operational data drawn from more than 1.7 million global assets to support benchmarking against industry performance. The assessments are carried out on-site by professionals with experience in managing critical facilities, who evaluate operational practices in context.
During the audit, organisations are reviewed across ten operational areas, including maintenance execution, technology integration, and incident management. The process results in a report outlining the organisation’s current operational state, identified vulnerabilities, and areas that may require further investment or improvement.
The report also compares findings against MCIM’s global dataset to provide performance context. It is intended to support leadership teams in understanding operational gaps and informing decisions about priorities and resource allocation.
In environments with higher-density computing demands, operational gaps can increase risk exposure. The service is designed to help organisations identify and address these issues within their own operational timelines and requirements.
