Deloitte Netherlands and Illumio forge alliance for cyber resilience

Deloitte Netherlands partners with Illumio to strengthen digital resilience in Europe through enhanced cybersecurity measures.

Illumio, a breach containment company, has announced a strategic alliance with Deloitte Netherlands aimed at improving digital resilience for European organisations. The collaboration combines Deloitte Netherlands’ cybersecurity consulting and implementation capabilities with Illumio’s breach containment platform to support organisations in strengthening their cybersecurity posture.

The partnership is positioned to be particularly relevant for financial services, insurance, and other regulated industries, which are facing increasing regulatory requirements, including the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). This regulation is prompting organisations to reassess and reinforce their Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems.

Approximately 42% of organisations report challenges in aligning network architecture with asset classification and risk profiles. One of the key difficulties highlighted is network segmentation, which is an important component of Zero Trust security strategies. The collaboration is intended to support organisations in addressing these challenges while improving security and compliance outcomes.

Deloitte Netherlands is using the alliance to extend its work in areas such as defining resilience metrics, developing crisis preparedness plans, and conducting resilience assessments. These activities are designed to help organisations respond to cyber threats and meet evolving regulatory expectations.

A central element of the partnership is the integration of Illumio Insights, a hybrid cloud detection and response tool. This will be incorporated into Deloitte’s cyber maturity and NIST-based assessments to provide organisations with near real-time visibility into their risk exposure, supporting risk assessment and prioritisation of security investments.

The alliance reflects a shared objective of improving cybersecurity resilience by helping organisations strengthen detection, response, and recovery capabilities while maintaining operational efficiency. It is based on the view that while not all cyberattacks can be prevented, their impact can be contained and managed.

Overall, the collaboration is aimed at supporting organisations in enhancing cyber resilience and navigating an evolving regulatory and threat environment.
